Liverpool FC finished up their Premier League season on our Sunday night / Monday morning, then the following day, jumped on a private jet & took off for Sydney. Arrival was Wednesday morning, with the game against Sydney FC scheduled for Wednesday night.
The night before the game, I attended an event with LFCNSW hosted by LFCTV where we were entertained by tales of old from Gary McAllister MBE & Jason McAteer. Unfortunately most of the stories can’t be repeated outside of those 4 walls ?
At the end, Liverpool came out ahead 3-0 against the current A-League champions. Just goes to show the wide chasm in quality between European and Australian football.
The absolute highlight, apart from seeing Gerrard, Agger, Carragher, & McManaman playing with the First Team, was the rendition of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” which was recorded in 360˚ & is embedded below.
