The Canon Collective ran an event on Saturday afternoon at the Shute Shield semi final #1 between top finisher Sydney University & 4th placed Warringah.
These events are run so that any Canon DSLR user can experience a type of photography that they’re not necessarily exposed to normally and to use some of the higher spec equipment normally only available to the professionals. It’s a great chance to learn some different techniques & get to locations normally off limits. On this day, I was able to get right next to the field, via the players tunnel.
There was a wide variety of equipment available for us to use, but as I am very familiar with my camera I decided to stick with that body. Lens on the other hand……. my lenses would have been more than adequate, but who in their right mind is going to turn down the opportunity to use some $12,000+ glass! The Canon 200-400 f4 L IS was the weapon of choice, & what a weapon it was!
